Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Cohost Tech, Inc. ("we," "us," and "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use our mobile application, Ray (the "App"), and our website at https://ray.you.
Information We Collect
We collect personal information from you, from Apple when you sign in, and automatically through your use of the App, including:
- Account information: Sign in with Apple identifier, name you enter (first and/or last), and email address.
- Check-ins and conversations: Content you enter in check-ins and conversations, and app-generated outputs based on that content.
- Profile and onboarding information: Birthday and focus area you provide during onboarding.
- Usage and analytics data: Information about how you use the App, including interactions, events, and device and crash/error information.
- Coarse location: Country, region, and city derived from your network connection, used for analytics.
- IP address: Collected when you use the App, for security and compliance purposes.
- Subscription status: If you purchase a subscription, Apple processes your payment. We receive your subscription status through our subscription management provider.
How We Use Information
We use personal information to provide, operate, maintain, and improve the App; to personalize your experience; to send push notifications; to process subscriptions; to protect security; and to comply with law.
Who We Share Information With
Service Providers
We share personal information with service providers that process data on our behalf, including: AI service providers; analytics provider; push notification provider; hosting and infrastructure provider; error monitoring provider; authentication provider; subscription management provider; and app update provider.
Third Parties
We share certain personal information with the following third parties, who may use it for their own purposes:
- Advertising and marketing analytics providers: We share your account identifier and app activity events with advertising and marketing analytics providers.
Law Enforcement and Legal Process
We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, including to comply with a court order, subpoena, or other legal process, or to cooperate with law enforcement.
Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal information.
To submit a request, email privacy@ray.you or delete your account in the App via Settings -> Delete Account. We will not require you to create a new account. We respond to verified requests within 45 days and may extend once where permitted by applicable law; if we extend, we will notify you within the initial 45-day period with the reason. If we deny your request, you may appeal by emailing privacy@ray.you; we will review and respond within 45 days.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal information is deleted from our active systems. Consent records, a record of your deletion request, and operational service usage records are retained after account deletion for compliance and audit purposes. Deletion from backup systems may take up to 7 days.
Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest.
Tracking
We request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission on first launch. Your ATT selection affects how Meta collects certain device advertising identifiers, but does not affect all data shared with Meta or TikTok, as described above.
We do not respond to web browser "Do Not Track" signals.
Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users 13 and older; we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us at privacy@ray.you to delete it.
AI Features
The App uses artificial intelligence to generate responses, summaries, and insights based on content you provide. The AI is not a human. Your personal information is not used to train AI models.
Changes to this Policy
If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy and update the Effective Date.
