Ray Raises $3.8M to Map Your Emotions

The AI-enabled mental health app is building a "personal dashboard" that turns feelings into patterns—and next steps.

San Francisco, CA — February 9, 2026

Ray, an AI-enabled mental health app, announced today it has raised $3.8M in pre-seed funding led by Topology and Parable, with participation from Uncommon Ventures and angel investors from The Browser Company and Substack.

Ray will use the funding to grow its team across mental health, product, and community, and to build a visualization-first mental health app that maps emotions into patterns, insights, and next steps.

Ray is founded by Paari Kandappan (CEO) and Lisa Luo (CTO), longtime collaborators who have been building mobile products together for over a decade after meeting as engineers at HQ Trivia.

"We want to give people a way to see their inner life with the same clarity they see their steps, sleep, or finances," said Paari Kandappan, CEO of Ray. "Ray maps emotions into signals and patterns, so you can understand what's happening—and what actually helps—without wading through generic advice."
